The nice thing about
dividends is they keep coming even when you have busy months. That has left me with little time for
investing and catching up on all the great articles in the FI and DGI
communities. The restructuring of my
portfolio and additional contributions has led to a 26% increase YOY. That
translates into $444.21 dollars for the month with a total of $728.85 for the
year.
Dividend increases
from ADM, BHP/BBL, ORI and TROW helped spur additional dollars into my
pocket. I am concerned with the huge
jump up by BHP/BBL but it is still only
at its previous 2008 dividend levels. My
whopping 2 shares of each will probably remain so as I don't know when they
will cut the dividend again. And while I
do love the ORI the dividend growth this time around was only 1.1%. OLD REPUBLIC,
that wasn't a very nice raise you gave me.
Please SHARE the wealth. I
doubt the board will read that but it never hurts to try.
My goal is to still
contribute $11,000 to my (and my wife) IRA's this year. I am already half way there. The bulk of my savings will be in my 401k
when I become eligible in June. The
downside is none of the funds they offer are geared towards dividends so we
will see if that helps boost mine later this year.
Happy dividend
gathering,
Dividend Family Guy
Looks like a very solid performance for the month of March. Though that ORI raise was not large they consistently offer a high current yield. As usual it's nice to see quite a few names in common paying us last month. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith!
DeleteNice month DFG. I am hoping to catch up to that income at some point.
ReplyDeleteThanks, It is good but I will need a lot more to get to FI.
DeleteNice update yet again! Nice to see we share some companies. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteSame to you MR.R
DeleteHi DFG,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your increases - 26% is awesome. It's great to see the snowball back in action and gathering speed.
Best wishes,
-DL
Thanks DL. Can't wait until I cross the 50% barrier. Then things will really start to move fast.
