August 2017 Dividends

I hope T-Mobile doesn't steal too many customers from Verizon and Sprint because both pay be well every quarter.  From above you can see I own stocks in multiple accounts each spitting out money into my pocket from VZ and T.

Looking back this is my best August ever with a YOY increase of 53%.  I think most of that is attributed to my redesign of my dividend growth portfolio.  August and July used to be more even and now most of my payers are in August.

What really matters is did my dividends increase (both through dividend growth and my own contributions) this year versus last.  I imagine they will as I have maxed out my IRA contributions for the year for my wife and I.  There is also my old 401k from my previous employer I need to roll over.

I vaguely remember you can only roll over one account per year.  Is that true?

As always I hope you had a good month of getting paid by the companies you are part owners of.

Cheers,

Dividend Family Guy

  1. Hi DFG,
Glad to see the dividends growing again! Congrats on a great month.
I sold my VZ shares so I'm just in T now and I'm not buying any more for a while as they pay too much of my dividend income (12% of my individual stock dividends).

I would check https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/plan-participant-employee/rollovers-of-retirement-plan-and-ira-distributions carefully and perhaps ask your 401k provider about it. But it looks like plan to IRA rollovers don't count for the once a year limit.

Hope you have a great September!

    Best wishes,
    -DL

  2. Looks like your portfolio is doing quite well. A lot of solid names paying you and a nice year over year increase too. Not really familiar with BWLA. First time I ever seen it in any portfolio. Thanks for sharing.
